Who is the typical Bridge student?

Students at Kootenai Bridge Academy come from all walks of life, but all have one thing in common: they did not thrive in a traditional school environment. This could be for various reasons: bullying, social/emotional struggles, academic barriers, pregnancy, desire to complete at a faster pace and illness to name a few.

Who can enroll at Kootenai Bridge Academy?

Idaho students age 16-21, with a desire to earn a high school diploma, are encouraged to enroll in Bridge. There is no previous credit requirement and we do not charge tuition. Students with IEP and 504 plans are also encouraged to apply.

What are the student expectations?

A student who attends must be able to work on their own, at a computer for several hours a day. When needed it is expected that students ask for help if struggling in a subject in order to continue progress. Students are expected to act as young adults and be respectful to all staff , students and property. There is zero tolerance for bullying behavior of any kind.

What will my schedule look like?

Our curriculum is delivered online so students are also able to work from any location with internet access at anytime throughout the day. The only requirement is that they complete a minimum of 5 assessments to achieve attendance for the day. Attendance is required Monday through Thursday with Friday-Sunday being make-up days.

Am I required to come into the school?

It is highly recommended that students come into the school to work. However, it is not required with the exception of completing final Review Tests.

How long does it take to finish a course?

If students follow our attendance policy, they should be completing a credit every 2-3 weeks. The more absences you have, the longer it will take to graduate.

Will anyone be available to assist me?

We have a dedicated, experienced staff ready to assist on site during school hours, 8:00 am - 6:00 pm Monday - Thursday and 8:00 am - 11:00 am Friday. When a student encounters difficult subject matter, they can receive one-on-one help to get through the lesson.

What is Senior Project?

What Happens when I graduate Bridge?

We are an Idaho public school and you will receive the same diploma handed out at any other traditional high school. Our Career & College Counselor is available to assist with post-secondary plans, whether it be college, trade school, work experience or other resources needed to be a successful adult.
